Description

Marlow Oceanus is a high strength, low elongation "jacketed" rope using a specially designed high Dyneema SK99 or SK78 core. Firm and round in profile, Oceanus has been specifically designed for use on captive or traction winches and offers excellent drum spooling properties. The Dyneema / Technora cover significantly improves abrasion and cut resistance, whilst offering excellent grip and protection of the load bearing core. Core and cover are bonded along length of rope offering superior core / cover adhesion, virtually eliminating cover slip. A 32 plait version made with bio-based Dyneema has allowed the use of a thinner cover which in turn has allowed a larger core to be used. Benefits include increased strength and improved factors of safety in applications where size is constrained. The core design has also been engineered to improve splicing and resistance to bending and compression fatigue.
